Ah, that weird week between Christmas and New Year’s. I always remember this line from the movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith: “At the end, you start thinking about the beginning.”
I don’t like resolutions, or the practice of making them, as it seems like it’s focusing on the failures of the previous year, and thus, negativity. Instead, I prefer to set business and personal intentions, and focus on the positives of the previous and coming year.
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and planning lately while watching my children play in these Costa Rican Technicolor sunsets, (this is not a filter) which can sometimes make you feel like you’re at the edge of the world. These sunsets are a beautiful end to the days here, and particulary striking this time of the season, which means the new year is on its way.
Here’s a few of my intentions I’ve come up with for 2020:
- I intend to allow my companies to grow easily, and elegantly into inspiring, fun, and phenomenally successful corporations.
- I intend to deepen the loving, joyful, and fulfilling relationship I have with each of my children.
- I intend to focus more on my work/life balance.
- I intend to surf more!
Setting personal and business intentions in 2020 is important; what’s one (or some) of yours?
I wish you all a very joyous and prosperous New Year and 2020. What an exciting time we live in!
